Yang Ming profits $4 billion in H1
Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation (Yang Ming) has posted its financial report for the first half of 2022.
Net profit for the first half of the year stood at NT$ 116.11 billion ($4 billion), while consolidated revenues rose to NT $216.15 billion ($7.5 billion), a year-on-year increase of 59.5 per cent.
In the second quarter of 2022, the company’s net profit came to NT$55.53 billion ($1.9 billion). Consolidated revenues stood at NT $109.45 billion ($3.8 billion), up by 49.4 per cent from the same period of last year.
In the container sector, Yang Ming moved a total of 2.27 million TEU in Q2, an increase of 2 per cent compared the same period in 2021.
Last month, Yang Ming welcomed its newest 11,000 TEU container vessel YM Tutorial.
The vessel was chartered from Shoei Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. and built by Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.
The company has ordered a total of 14 11,000 TEU containerships through long-term charter agreements with ship owners, and the YM Tutorial is the 12th vessel in the series.
