VSC debuts SITC South Korea – China – Vietnam service
Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company (VSC), a division of Global Ports located at the Vostochny Port in Primorye, has begun servicing a new regular container service by shipping line SITC, a division of Asian transport and logistics group SITC International Holding.
SITC launched the service from the Vostochny Port to South Korea, China and Vietnam at the end of July 2022, VSC said.
The first vessel processed at VSC was the SITC Inchon with capacity of 1,032 TEU.
The new service’s port rotation includes Busan (South Korea), Tianjin, Xingang, Qingdao, Lianyungang, Ningbo and Shanghai (China), Haiphong (Vietnam) and Shekou, Wenzhou (China).
Cargo is shipped for both export and import, with shipments taking one to 21 days depending on the port of destination.
The SITC service has complemented regular lines that connect the Vostochny Port to the largest ports in the Asia-Pacific region through the VSC terminal, the company said.
“The ability to work with various lines and the expansion of the geography of services available through the VSC terminals helps our clients to reduce the time it takes for cargo delivery and the costs of organising it, and makes it possible to establish the most convenient routes for cargo delivery,” Global Ports Commercial Director Igor Pukhov commented.
“With the launch of the SITC service at the Vostochny Port, VSC clients have gained access to a broad network of rotation ports in the Asia-Pacific region,” he said.
VSC, one of the largest container terminals in Russia’s Far East, has capacity to handle 700,000 TEU per year.
SITC International Holdings Co., Ltd., which is headquartered in Hong Kong, is a leading transport and logistics company within Asia. The company operates 96 vessels and five bulk carriers, including 68 that it owns.
In July VSC put into operation a new automobile entry complex (AVK), connecting the terminal with the road Artyom – Nakhodka – Vostochny port.
