Biggest Turkish gantry crane works with H&K motor cable reel

State-of-the-art power supply technology by Hartmann & Koenig enables a smooth operation of Turkey’s biggest gantry crane at Tersan Shipyard Yalova new building premises. Our motor cable reel provides the giant construction with eco-friendly, mobile power to perform its demanding handling tasks over travel distances of about 525 m within the port area. The system is fitted with a precisely adjustable frequency drive for the elimination of peak forces on the cable in highly dynamic processes.

The new crane is constructed by Tersan Shipyard within a 6 months period. Although this new crane is based on the same design of Tersan’s first gantry crane which is capable of lifting 550 tons, the lifting capacity of this second crane is 400 tons SWL (2x200 tons) because it’s operating a significant wider range, the distance between the legs are about 80 meters.
