Port of Tianjin completes automation transition!

 The Port Tianjin has completed the world’s first traditional container terminal automation upgrade project.

COSCO said that the project marks the large-scale application of "Tianjin solution" in upgrading the largest container terminal in Beijing Tianjin Hebei region and realizing the full-automatic operation of the traditional container terminal.

The company believes that this will set a new benchmark for the construction of smart ports and green ports, as well as a new mode of cooperation between central enterprises and local governments.

On July 1, sunwenkui, vice mayor of Tianjin and vice chairman of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference, Wan min, chairman and Secretary of the Party group of China Ocean Shipping Group, Shan Zefeng, deputy secretary and head of Binhai New Area District Party committee, Zhang Yiming, executive director of the major project committee of China Merchants Port Group Co., Ltd., Zhang Jian, vice president of Shanghai Zhenhua heavy industry (Group) Co., Ltd., Chu bin, Secretary of the Party committee and chairman of Tianjin Port Group and other leaders of relevant units attended.

Despite the epidemic, Tianjin Port handled about 4.63 million TEU containers in the first three months of 2022, an increase of 3.5% year-on-year.

According to port operators, this figure marks a record high in container throughput compared with the same period in previous years.
