On the afternoon of July 31, the North Wing Container Trunk Port of Shanghai International Shipping Center, the Jiangsu Nantong Tongzhou Bay Seaport with container handling capacity exceeding 15 million standard boxes in 2035, will be built. The construction headquarters of Nantong Tongzhou Bay Port will be officially unveiled and established. Jiangsu's new outlet will formally enter the substantive implementation stage from the previous plan. 。

The construction of Tongzhou Bay's new outlet mainly includes three aspects: port engineering, collection and distribution engineering and shipping service construction. Among them, the total investment of the first phase of the wharf project is about 8.8 billion yuan, with 10 berths of 50,000 tons per harbour, 4 berths of 100,000 tons per second harbour and 2 berths of 200,000 tons per third harbour. The total investment of waterway project is about 15 billion yuan. The 50,000-ton waterway of Xiaomiaohong is carrying out preliminary work. The 100,000-ton waterway and breakwater of net warehouse flood are expected to start construction in 2020. The regular planning of 300,000-ton waterway of Lengjiasha is studied. In addition, three inland waterways, three high-speed corridors and two railway freight corridors will be built.

A major transport infrastructure project for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, namely, the construction of the new outlet for container transportation of the Yangtze River in Tongzhou Bay of Nantong and the new airport of Nantong, ushered in key progress on July 31. On the same day, Tongzhou Bay Port Construction Command and Nantong New Airport (Hub) Construction Command were unveiled, marking the two major projects of great concern entered the substantive implementation stage.

Building Tongzhou Bay Harbour in accordance with the first-class international standards is an important strategic plan for Jiangsu Provincial Government to build a new seaport. The construction tasks of Tongzhou Bay Port mainly include port engineering, collection and distribution engineering and shipping service construction. Three deep-water waterways of 50,000 to 200,000 tons, three river-sea intermodal transport corridors, three Expressway corridors of Pinghai Highway, Tonghai Avenue Highway and Tongzhou Bay Highway, as well as two railway freight corridors of Tonghai Port Area to Tongzhou Bay Area and Yangkou Port through Tongzhou Bay to Lusi Port. It is expected that by 2022, the Tongzhou Bay Harbour Initiation Project will be basically completed and the operation of the harbour will be realized. By 2025, container transport hub will basically be formed, and become an important shipping hub in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and a new outlet for container transport in the Yangtze River. By 2035, it will become a demonstration area for the integrated development of ports in the whole province, a core port of the northern hub port of Shanghai International Shipping Center, an important engine for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, and an important support for the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Zone, with container handling capacity exceeding 15 million TEUs.

At present, significant progress has been made in the construction of Tongzhou Bay Harbour. The first phase of the Rolling-Roll Logistics Base of Tongzhou Bay, with a total investment of 6.5 billion yuan, has been basically completed. The construction of high-grade waterways and start-up terminals of Tongzhou Bay Port will also begin.

The construction of Nantong New Airport is a major project for the construction of world-class airport clusters in the Yangtze River Delta, and also an important pole for the "short board" of Jiangsu Buqi Airlines. According to the Department of Transport and Transport of Jiangsu Province, the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration includes 27 cities in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui, with a population of about 150 million and 23 airports. The future aviation demand of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration is about 300 million times, and the existing airport layout can not fully meet the future demand. As an important part of Shanghai international aviation hub, Nantong New Airport will fill the "gap" of insufficient air transport capacity in the Yangtze River Delta. With the strong support and direction of the provincial government of the provincial Party committee, important progress has been made in the preliminary work of Nantong New Airport. From January 28 to 30 this year, CAAC Engineering Consulting Company held a consultation meeting on the evaluation of the new airport location report in Nantong. The Group of Experts believes that the construction of Nantong New Airport is the need for cross-river integration and development under the background of accelerating integration of the Yangtze River Delta, as well as the need for complementary and coordinated development of regional civil aviation advantages. It is reported that Nantong New Airport will seamlessly link up with the planned high-speed railway along the North River to build "airport on track". It will focus on the construction of convenient transportation links between Nantong New Airport and Shanghai, coordinate the construction of Shanghai-Tong Intercity Rail Transit, and strengthen the comprehensive transportation between Shanghai Pudong and Hongqiao Airports and Nantong New Airport with track as the backbone. Transport system convergence.

The major transportation infrastructure projects directly related to Tongzhou Bay's new outlet, Nantong's new airport and the high-speed railway along the North River and Nantong have all been included in the Yangtze River Delta's Integrated Development Plan Outline, which has made Nantong stand at a great opportunity "tuyere" once in a century, and is of great importance to reshaping Nantong's urban spatial pattern, improving its urban energy level, and It is of great significance to build a national comprehensive transportation hub.

"Facing the unprecedented opportunities brought by the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, we have no way to go but to struggle, and we have no choice but to succeed." Lu Zhipeng, Secretary of Nantong Municipal Party Committee, said that we should take the initiative of "opening roads and bridges across mountains and rivers", "rolling nail board and delamination skin", "moving mountains and dripping water through rocks" and make strenuous efforts to build a new outlet for container transportation in Tongzhou Bay and a strategic fulcrum of the Yangtze River Economic Zone. The northern portal city of Haidu metropolis strives to be the pioneer of higher quality integrated development in the Yangtze River Delta.
