Dongwon Global Terminal (DGT) has selected CyberLogitec’s terminal operating system (TOS) for its fully automated Busan New Port terminal – the first of its kind in South Korea.

The DGT Consortium was selected as an operating company for West Container harbour in Busan New Port in 2021. The company is set to operate a terminal of six berths and a feeder terminal for 30 years from July 2023 providing automated equipment for stevedoring.

Busan New Port terminal is the first fully automated terminal in the Republic of Korea, designed by DGT for low-cost and high-efficiency terminal operation process.

CyberLogitec will supply DGT with the latest IT technology, including Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data. The partnership is expected to enhance operation efficiency at DGT by implementing an optimised operation process suitable for the fully automated terminal with the adoption of advanced functions in productivity and simulation.

“CyberLogitec has been selected for the project of the first fully automated terminal operating system in Korea,” said Jeong Min Son, Head of the Port Department.

“We dedicate to the port/terminal logistics IT service technology capability and improve automated terminal operation technology in Korea through this project.”

Last year, CyberLogitec reached an agreement with Eurogate Tanger S.A. container terminal in Morocco to integrate its OPUS Terminal TOS.

The Tanger terminal, partially invested by CMA CGM and operated by global terminal operator Eurogate, has decided to replace the old terminal operating system and move to CyberLogitec’s OPUS Terminal in order to handle the fast-growing container throughput in the Tanger terminal to maximise terminal productivity.
